What, exactly, is MOJO supposed to mean?
Merriam Webster defines it as a supernatural power or ability, we prefer to think of our MOJO as the inspiration behind our brand and its identity. Now that we have cleared that up, here’s the story:

Why Kid’s Bluff? What’s up with the goats?
Well, that’s easy. Kids, because that’s who we create books for. As a modern and informal term for the youngest among us, it suited us to a T. We also love goats, especially baby goats, which also just happened to be called ‘kids.’ It’s a little more than just a play on words, though.

First, we got to thinking:

  • Goat-kids, like young readers, are curious in nature

  • They are difficult to fence in, much like a curious reader.

  • They love to escape, even if it’s only for a short time.

Starting to sound familiar?

The more we thought about it, the more we realized just how much human and goat ‘kids’ have in common:

  • Goat-kids are nimble, brave and independent, like the readers we wish to nurture.

  • Much like a voracious reader, a goat-kid will devour just about anything

  • Kids, both goat and human, are naturally playful and creative; leaping off stumps or headbutting with pals for the sheer joy of it.

  • Like humans, goat-kids come in many shades and shapes, with a wide array of personalities.

There you have it. A brand-name with a story, which should come as no surprise, since we aim to peddle in stories, right?
As for the ‘Bluff’ part, well, you’ll have to stick around to find out!
