Our Authors and Illustrators
Olivia Stanfield - Author and Founder of Kid’s Bluff Books
Olivia became a bookworm in 4th grade, thanks to her first librarian/friend at a scary new school, sometime at the end of the last century. (RIP, Mrs Sid) Since then, she has been devouring books and escaping reality in the pages of her favorite novels. She loves them so much, she decided to spend four years writing about books themselves by majoring in French and English literature, and learn another language (Spanish) so she could read even more. Now you see why we call her a bookworm, though she prefers bibliophile. Figures.
As a mother, she amassed a large collection of picture books in English for her Argentine offspring, and then began to write her own. Olivia wishes to create stories that are inclusive of all gender expressions and cultural identities and that focus on the moments of joy, empathy and wonder we find in human relations and in nature.
When she is not writing, she can be found trying to run this venture and enjoying the company of her family and many pets. Cursed by an evil fairy-godfather with an “entrepreneurial spirit” at her wedding many moons ago, she has a million unvetted entrepreneurial ideas that float elusively before her, like mini-oases in the desert to a downed pilot. Kid’s Bluff is the one that turned out not to be a mirage.
Ana Paula Giunta - Illustrator
My name is Ana Paula, and while I am not small, everyone calls me by the diminutive “Anita.” I live with my family in Coronel Suárez, a small rural town in the south of the province of Buenos Aires and in close contact with nature.
As a creative person, I love to paint, draw, weave, cook, do origami, dance and sing in the local choir. I am learning to garden, too! I am also learning to play the ukulele and I love horses. I try to spend as much time with them as possible.
I am a graphic designer, which has given me the tools I need to bring ideas to life. Using colors, shapes and lines I can create visual universes that accompany stories and make them even more magical. Each stroke and detail that I add to my work is made with great care, as I seek to awaken curiosity and the reader’s imagination.
I believe that storytelling is one of the most powerful ways to connect with others and to share positive values with young readers.
